RF: Behind the wireless broadband

Smartbro-ken! Globe Wireless Sucks!

They are all over Pinoy forums and blogs. 'Mula Aparri hanggang Jolo.' I’ve been writing in some of the forums to share some of my little Telecom and RF knowledge and some references that help.

Wireless communications equipment whether it is called Digital or Analog must use the radio spectrum. Wireless broadband like HSPA/3.5G, WiMax, PTM (Canopy)like the war time UHF/VHF radios must use the same radio spectrum but with higher frequencies. The higher their frequencies are, the less distance they can reach. The efficiency of these telecom and radio equipment is greatly affected by the surrounding or the environment. The mountains, trees, buildings, power grids, storm, rain, fog, smogs, the like. Fortunately, snow don't fall in the Philippines making wireless communication better during sunny days.

  1. maybe all these giant telecoms were true to what they were offering. problem is that they do not give people the not so advantage/s of wireless connection. through advertisements, having famous personalities armed with their convincing powers, consumers were blinded and thinking that it was a real smart product!I am not an endorser of smart???! instead, but I am one of the many poor smartbro-ken subscribers, zero technical knowledge and forced to use until lock-in period ends. oh and wait,if miracle still happens? hoping telephone facilities would come to our place..the meantime guess i would have to get used with my not so smart connection.

So much of my sentiments, could you please enlighten me in a language that i could understand? Please i know nothing on technical matters. thanks
