Based on feedbacks, many Globe Telecom's HSDPA Wireless Broadband subsribers are still not satisfied. Being the first to launch Wimax in the Philippines, will it regain it's subscribers back? Or it's Wimax is just a Globe version of Smartbroken? How efficient is Wimax technology?
Just like Smartbro's Canopy system. Wimax also uses the radio frequency spectrum to deliver a point to multipoint broadband connection but of lower frequency and if we talk about frequency and range, the lower the RF frequency is, the further its reach would be. Let's wait and see.

RF: Behind the wireless broadband
Smartbro-ken! Globe Wireless Sucks!
They are all over Pinoy forums and blogs. 'Mula Aparri hanggang Jolo.' I’ve been writing in some of the forums to share some of my little Telecom and RF knowledge and some references that help.
Wireless communications equipment whether it is called Digital or Analog must use the radio spectrum. Wireless broadband like HSPA/3.5G, WiMax, PTM (Canopy)like the war time UHF/VHF radios must use the same radio spectrum but with higher frequencies. The higher their frequencies are, the less distance they can reach. The efficiency of these telecom and radio equipment is greatly affected by the surrounding or the environment. The mountains, trees, buildings, power grids, storm, rain, fog, smogs, the like. Fortunately, snow don't fall in the Philippines making wireless communication better during sunny days.
